Tips for planning an arts project
If you are an artist, community group or organisation with some ideas about undertaking an arts project, there are many grants available to support your project.

You have a much greater chance of success if you consider the following –

    1. Allow plenty of time to plan your project – usually an 18 month time frame will allow for planning, preparing your application/s and undertaking the project.

    2. Think about other organisations or groups who might like to join you in the project and invite them to come along to a planning discussion. Most funding bodies are keen to support applications from organisations who are partnering with others.

    3. Contact a Country Arts SA arts officer, on

    8444 0400.

 Adelaide Mini Maker Faire

Sunday 1 November at Tonsley (the old Mitsubishi site).

The Faire is currently looking for exhibitors, speakers and hands on workshops for children and adults.

The Adelaide Mini Maker Faire is part of a global network of events which included 131 in 2014, including a Mini Maker Faire at The Whitehouse.

A Mini Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Adelaide Mini Maker Faire will bring people, innovation, design and ideas together at South Australia’s latest hub for innovation, education and entrepreneurship, Tonsley.  There will be everything from 3D printing to weaving, electronics, home made Daleks and everything in between.  It is a chance for the public to meet makers, ask questions, see old crafts, and new technology side by side.

Makers, tinkers and inventors are often invisible, working hard in sheds, around kitchen tables and in small clubs. Adelaide Mini Makers Faire makes the projects and ideas that we don’t get to see everyday visible. Giving people a chance to show off, teach and to learn.
